Just a few days before Thanksgiving a small flock of wild turkeys showed up on my doorstep. Every year we get flocks of turkeys who hang out on our property on and off, often for extended periods of time - sometimes days, sometimes weeks, and one year even a month or two. There have been several years when they show up just before Thanksgiving and I always semi-jokingly think that it’s because they know they’re safe here, as we do not eat turkey on Thanksgiving.
